The Ministry of National Defense’s budget report for next year includes stipends for the nation’s 126,000 reservists, indicating that more people might be called up for retraining next year.
In a report earlier this year, the ministry said that the military’s target this year was to summon 108,942 reservists for refresher training, an incrase of 14,072 from last year.

This year is the fourth year of the 14-day reserve training program, now fully rolled out across all county and city reserve units.
In related news, the ministry has proposed amendments to military regulations to allow conscripts serving four months to take one day off for mental health and those serving one year to take three days off.
Commanding officers would not be allowed to turn down the leave requests, the proposed amendments say.
The announcement came a month after the ministry published a preview of changes to regulations that would allow three mental health days off for non-commissioned officers and officers who volunteered for military service.
