An 86-year-old man who once drew attention for marrying a woman half a century his junior was back in the spotlight yesterday for siring a baby boy.
Huang Shi-chong (黃錫充) and his 35-year-old wife from China, Yang Hua-lin (楊華林), are the proud parents of a one-month old. "It's like a blessing from the heavens that I could have this son. That's why I named him Huang Tien-you (黃天佑)," Huang said. Tien You means "blessing from heaven."

Huang and his wife met in 1995, when he was visiting relatives in Guangxi Province.
Huang's kindness moved Yang to marry him and cross the Taiwan Strait. "If I could turn back time, I would have preferred to stay in Guangxi," Yang said. "Life in the farming village was relaxing, your field of vision is unobstructed, and the climate in the summer is not so hot."
The responsibility for raising their son rests mostly on Yang's shoulders. "After a few months, I'm going to take him to China so that his aunt can take care of him for a while," Yang said.
Several city government officials visited the couple yesterday to congratulate them.
