Taiwan’s Chan Chin-wei cruised into the semi-finals of the doubles at the OEC Taipei WTA Challenger yesterday, while Japanese top seed Misaki Doi advanced to the semi-finals of the singles at the Taipei Arena.
Second seeds Chan and Junri Namigata took just 41 minutes to crush Taiwanese duo Lee Pei-chi and Yang Chia-hsien 6-1, 6-0.
The Taiwanese duo did not face a single break point and converted six of 13, winning 51 of the 69 points contested to advance to a semi-final today against third seeds Marina Melnikova of Russia and Elise Mertens of Belgium.

In the quarter-finals of the singles, top seed Misaki Doi made it safely into today’s semi-finals after downing Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand 6-3, 6-4 in 1 hour, 9 minutes.
The Japanese world No. 60 saved all four break points she faced and converted the two that she created, winning 59 of the 109 points contested to set up a clash with third seed Evgeniya Rodina of Russia, who rallied from a set down to overcome Liu Chang of China 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in 1 hour, 51 minutes.
Rodina saved three of seven break points and converted six of 13, winning 92 of the 168 points contested.
On the other side of the singles draw, fourth seed Timea Babos of Hungary advanced to today’s semi-finals after a 6-4, 7-5 victory over seventh seed Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland in 1 hour, 11 minutes.
Babos saved both break points she faced and converted two of five, winning 63 of the 119 points contested to even her career record against the Swiss at 1-1.
Voegele won their only previous encounter in Shenzhen, China, in 2013.
The Hungarian next faces Belgian fifth seed Kirsten Flipkens, who advanced when second seed Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan retired after 63 minutes when leading their match 6-4, 1-2.
