A truck driver posted an article on the Facebook page “The Blabberers Society,” advising everyone to always keep a distance from big vehicles. It is not that drivers do not hit the brakes, but that the brakes cannot stop big vehicles. The truck driver said:
As a big truck driver, I seriously want to advise everyone to please always keep a distance from big vehicles!”
The average person does not understand what it feels like to drive a big vehicle. I will make it crystal clear to you: when you drive a big truck, you will understand how easy it is to end a person’s life. All it takes is just one action — hitting the brakes a bit too slow.

When you insist on overtaking me and put yourself in front of me and stay very close, if I hit the brakes just a bit too slow, I could put you six feet under. When I make a turn and you stay close to the front of my truck to overtake me, if I hit the brakes just a little bit too slow, your family will see you become a pile of minced meat. Even if you drive a car, your car will turn into a pile of scrap metal.
When I drive on a small road and intentionally do not leave any space for scooters to drive alongside me, please do not hold a grudge. I am protecting you, for if you accidentally hit my truck and fall over, I will run you over and turn you into a pile of minced meat. Wait patiently; when circumstances allow, I will do my best to let you pass.
I drive a 15 tonne truck. If I carry six stone slabs, each of which weighs about 800kg, a total of 4,800kg, which is considered light for a big truck, and if you brake suddenly in front of me, I will not be able to stop my truck. If I drive an empty truck, which weighs 11 tons, including the weight of the boom, and if you suddenly stop in front of me, I will not be able to stop the truck.
If you ride a scooter and a man falls over in front of you, you cannot stop your scooter. If you are running and a person falls over in front of you, can you stop? If you cannot, how can you expect me to? Not to mention that when a big truck makes a turn, there is a difference in the turning radius between the front and back wheels, and that creates a blind spot for big trucks.
For the sake of your own life, please keep a distance from big vehicles. I seriously urge everyone of you, when you drive or ride past a big truck on the road, please keep at least 1m away from the big truck. When you are in front of a big truck, please keep a distance of at least the length of a car. You are doing this for your own life and for your loved ones. Likewise, we are being careful for your sake and for your family’s.
Please keep a distance from big trucks.
Note: There are indeed some big truck drivers who drive dangerously, but most drivers take safety seriously, because they have a family to feed. Please share this information. Please help spread the word. Help us save more lives. Safety is first.

Rice is an essential ingredient in Taiwanese cuisine. Many foods are made of rice, adding more variety to our cooking, such as rice cake, or “gui.” Wagui is made by steaming rice flour batter in a bowl. The term “gui” refers to a type of food made from rice, while “wa” refers to a bowl. The pronunciation of “gui” in Taiwanese Hokkien is similar to the word for “nobility” in Chinese, so it is common for people to prepare various types of gui, including wagui, as offerings to the gods or ancestors,. nobility (n.) While Taiwan may not be
It’s no secret that Japanese people have a deep affection for noodles. Like in the rest of East Asia, noodles are an important staple food, second only to rice. Japanese people have enjoyed noodles for over 1,000 years. The first noodles came from China and were introduced around 800 CE. As time passed, noodles in Japan not only became widespread but also developed some unique Japanese characteristics. The three most popular types of noodles in Japan are ramen, soba, and udon. Ramen, typically made from wheat flour, is usually thin and firm. The dough is kneaded and left to
On Tuesday last week, the flame for this summer’s Paris Olympics was lit at the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games in southern Greece in a meticulously choreographed ceremony. It will then be carried through Greece for more than 5,000km before being handed over to French organizers at the Athens venue used for the first modern Olympics in 1896. The pageantry at Olympia has been an essential part of every Olympics for nearly 90 years since the Games in Berlin. It’s meant to provide an ineluctable link between the modern event and the ancient Greek original on which it was initially modelled. Once
Drive-through (or drive-thru) restaurants provide people with the immense convenience of being able to purchase and pick up meals without needing to leave their vehicles. These restaurants have been around for decades, and their success has spawned a number of equally handy services. The drive-through concept originated with the drive-in restaurant, the first of which was established in the US in 1921. Patrons would order and eat the food that was delivered to their cars by workers called “carhops.” Ten years later, a drive-through service was introduced, but it was not until 1947 that the first exclusively drive-through restaurant opened its
