Meet Kathleen the mouse and Mark the elephant. Kathleen is very brave and likes adventure, but Mark is very shy and scared of many things. But friends stay together, so Mark follows Kathleen wherever she goes. Sometimes they get into some very sticky situations.

"Summer salad"
"Summer is here," said Kathleen one afternoon.
"I know!" answered Mark with excitement in his voice. "All the best fruit is everywhere now! Mangos, pineapples, watermelons! I can't get enough. Winter has nothing like it, except strawberries and oranges. Are you hungry?"
"I know, let's make a fruit salad!" said Kathleen, jumping into the air.
"OK. I can peel the bananas. I am a banana-peeling expert! Are you going to buy the fruit now?" Mark asked Kathleen.
"Yes, and you are coming with me. I can choose the fruit, but if you want to eat any of it, you'll have to carry a few of the bags home. Pineapples and watermelons can be a little heavy for a mouse, you know," answered Kathleen.
"If I'm carrying the bags, how do you plan to earn your part of the fruit salad?" Mark asked, happy that for once Kathleen needed help doing something, instead of vice versa.
"I'll carry the cherries and the blueberries! And the cheese! You can't have a nice fruit salad without a bit of cheese."
"I'll let you add cheese, as long as we can pick up a bag of peanuts while we are out. Nuts and fruit -- mmm!"
