Have you ever wanted something from the refrigerator, but been too lazy to go and get it?
When this happens, you usually have to beg someone else, like a brother, sister or parent, to go get it for you. Or, you have to stop being lazy and get it yourself.
This robot might change all that in the future.
In this picture, someone has just told this robot to get juice out of a refrigerator. The robot walked over to the refrigerator, opened the door, took out the juice and brought it back to the person who asked for it. Right now, this robot is not for sale, but it might be some day.
Just imagine how lazy people will be able to be in the future!

IS THAT ENGLISH?
The word "robot" wasn't originally an English word. It comes from the Czech word "robata," which means hard, boring work. The word"robot" was first used in a play called Rossam's Universal Robots, written by a Czech man named Karel Capek in 1920. |
