When kangaroos are born, they don't have fur. They crawl into their mother's pouch, where they live until they get bigger.
The pouch is a very cozy place to live. The mother feeds them and keeps them warm and safe.
When they start to grow fur, they sometimes leave the pouch to look at the world outside, but then they go back to their mothers. When they get big enough, they leave the pouch and don't go back.
