At least 30 casualties were reported when a bus blew up in central Jerusalem yesterday, rescue workers said.
It was not yet clear how many of the casualties were killed. Ambulances rushed to the scene after the blast near the city's main market.
Israeli television said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
Witnesses reported seeing bodies in the bus which was torn apart by the force of the blast.
Palestinian militants had threatened revenge attacks after a botched Israeli assassination attempt of Abdel-Aziz al-Rantissi, a leader of the militant Islamic group Hamas on Tuesday.
