On Wednesday at Riverside Cafe (河岸留言), indie label startup Martian Music (火星人音樂) is teaming up with music events promoter Islandjam to host Summer Rock, a showcase of up-and-coming musicians.
The event is a chance to see the latest crop of young and talented musicians with mainstream pop aspirations in a small club setting. The lineup includes Zoe Huang (黃玠瑋), a singer-songwriter who models herself after Western performers like Avril Lavigne and Sarah MacLachlan, and Mando-pop crooners Peng Wei-lin (彭偉麟) and Peng Tzu-heng (郭子恆).
