Hsieh’s trip was too ‘sober’

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) bigwig — and I mean that literally — former premier Frank Hsieh (謝長廷) recently returned from a trip to China, ostensibly to attend an international bartending expo featuring a Taiwanese team in a live competition. I have been reading how recent “bar flair” competitions are heating up in Taipei.

He should immediately make a statement saying: “I was at a bartending expo, for goodness sake. If I start talking, nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs might start flying out of my mouth. If you expected me to deal with the Chinese Communist Party sober, you’ve got to be kidding.”

Hsieh should explain what happened at the international bartending event. Was it fun? How good was the Taiwanese team? Were you on the panel of judges, and did you agree with the overall decisions?

Do you have any cool photos or videos that you can share? Where is the proof that you actually did what you said you were going to do by going to China for a bartending event?

In other words, were you supporting Taiwan’s active, creative young workers, or not?
