DelSolar Co (旺能光電), a solar cell module manufacturing arm of local power device maker Delta Electronics Inc (台達電), said it had signed a contract to supply solar modules to a European company, according to a stock exchange filing on Saturday.
DelSolar said the European company, which was not named in the filing because of contract requirements, belongs to a renowned European photovoltaic group.
The contract includes supply terms for product quantities and prices, and the Hsinchu-based company has committed to supply about 25 megawatts worth of solar modules to the European company this year, the filing showed.
“The contract is expected to contribute to the company’s revenue and marks a major achievement for DelSolar in the European market as the company continues to win support from new strategic customers,” the company said.
In the first 11 months of last year, the company’s revenue totaled NT$8.96 billion (US$294.9 million), up 131.24 percent from a year earlier, company data showed.
DelSolar’s latest deal came after the company announced on Thursday it had signed a contract to provide about 22 megawatts of solar modules to a leading international photovoltaic supplier for the North American market, as well as a one-year contract inked on Dec. 10 to offer at least 30 megawatts of solar modules to a leading renewable energy company in Europe.
The company’s shares are currently traded on the smaller Emerging Stock Market, which is a preparatory board for Taiwan’s two main bourses, closing at NT$59 on Friday. Last year, the stock jumped 10.64 percent on the Emerging Stock Market.

SIZE MATTERS: TSMC started phasing out 8-inch wafer production last year, while Samsung is more aggressively retiring 8-inch capacity, TrendForce said Chipmakers are expected to raise prices of 8-inch wafers by up to 20 percent this year on concern over supply constraints as major contract chipmakers Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC, 台積電) and Samsung Electronics Co gradually retire less advanced wafer capacity, TrendForce Corp (集邦科技) said yesterday. It is the first significant across-the-board price hike since a global semiconductor correction in 2023, the Taipei-based market researcher said in a report. Global 8-inch wafer capacity slid 0.3 percent year-on-year last year, although 8-inch wafer prices still hovered at relatively stable levels throughout the year, TrendForce said. The downward trend is expected to continue this year,
