The annual Taipei Tourism Expo is to take place at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 from Friday to Monday next week, with airlines and travel agencies launching aggressive promotions ahead of the event to attract travelers.
China Airlines is offering discounts of up to 19 percent on all routes, while Cathay Pacific is promoting fares to 71 destinations worldwide with discounts starting at 20 percent.
Tigerair Taiwan is offering one-way fares from NT$1,199 before tax across all routes from 10am on Friday through 11:59pm on Monday next week, with the promotion applying to travel dates through March 27 next year.

Members of the airline’s Tigerprime credit card program can additionally enjoy discounts of up to 15 percent and receive 3 percent back in tigerpoints rewards.
The airline would also unveil during the expo its new one-stop “tigertel” service, integrating airline tickets and hotel bookings into a single purchasing platform.
Travelers who complete payment by Monday next week can also redeem limited-edition gifts at the venue, including Japanese eSIM cards, one-way airport transfers in Osaka and exclusive merchandise.
EverFun Holiday is offering discounts of up to NT$10,000 on European tours, up to NT$2,200 off overseas free-and-easy packages and 5 percent discounts on UNI Air domestic flight-and-hotel packages.
For group travel, EverFun is highlighting summer vacation packages, including a four-day Seoul-Gimpo theme tour from NT$19,500, a northern Vietnam light travel package from NT$16,900, and Japan tours such as a five-day peach-picking and Universal Studios package from NT$35,900, as well as a five-day Hokkaido-Hakodate-Furano fireworks tour from NT$38,900.
EVA Air yesterday announced that it has upgraded aircraft capacity on several routes departing from Kaohsiung, deploying Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft on flights to Tokyo Narita International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Macau International Airport. The upgraded service was launched on the Kaohsiung-Tokyo Narita route.
China Airlines has also launched its online TTE promotion, offering discounts of up to 19 percent on all outbound Taiwan routes regardless of cabin class. Starting fares for one-way flights would be NT$5,880 to Seoul, NT$6,216 to Okinawa and NT$7,560 to Nagoya. For long-haul flights, starting fares would be NT$15,054 to Seattle and NT$15,600 to San Francisco.
In addition, travelers who purchase round-trip tickets to any destination before May 31, join the Dynasty Flyer program and would be entered into a lucky draw to win tickets for the same route and cabin class. China Airlines has also partnered with the Line Travel platform, offering 1 percent Line Points rewards on ticket purchases.
Cathay Pacific is offering promotions on 71 selected destinations worldwide.
Economy-class fares start at 20 percent off, while tickets for premium, economy and business class start at 7 percent off. Destinations include Hong Kong, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.
To celebrate Cathay’s 80th anniversary, the airline is also selling limited-edition aircraft models and blind-box teddy bear key chains featuring cabin crew uniforms at the expo. Customers who spend more than NT$15,000 on tickets would also receive a destination-themed canvas bag, while those completing any booking would be eligible to enter daily lucky draws for prizes including round-trip tickets for two between Taipei and Hong Kong.
Yangmingshan National Park authorities yesterday urged visitors to respect public spaces and obey the law after a couple was caught on a camera livestream having sex at the park’s Qingtiangang (擎天崗) earlier in the day. Fast food chain McDonald's is to raise prices by up to NT$5 on some products at its restaurants across Taiwan, starting on Wednesday next week, the company announced today.
