The Ministry of Agriculture is to host the first Good R Good Day festival tomorrow at the plaza in front of the Presidential Office Building on Ketagalan Boulevard — an agricultural event featuring a free communal dining experience and interactive installations to promote rural culture.
The inaugural event would center on agricultural experiences and parent-child interaction, using games and hands-on activities to help people better understand farming culture and the origins of food, ministry Secretary-General Lin Chia-jung (林家榮) said.

Free communal dining experience
The festival would recreate the traditional rural practice of expressing gratitude for farmers’ hard work through the preparation of “harvest rice” using locally sourced ingredients, Lin said, adding that it would allow people from urban areas to experience the shared meals typically enjoyed during harvest season.
The event would also feature do-it-yourself food and agriculture education activities, enabling participants to learn the stories behind their food, he said.
Interactive installations
A vegetable and fruit maze, and straw art displays would create an immersive agricultural experience, he said.
Meanwhile, a series of challenge-based activities and consumption reward programs would encourage participation and the purchase of Taiwanese agricultural products, he added.
Spring market
Separately, the ministry said that it would host an agricultural product market tomorrow and on Saturday on Nanhai Road, featuring nearly 100 stalls offering high-quality agricultural products from young farmers.
Traffic controls
As large crowds are expected for the festival, people are advised to use public transportation to avoid congestion, the Taipei City Police Department's Zhongzheng First Precinct said.
To maintain traffic flow and order during the setup and dismantling of the event, traffic controls, which began at 10pm yesterday, would be in place until 6am on Saturday during the first phase, police said.
Ketagalan Boulevard would be closed in both directions between Chongqing S Road and Huaining Street (both intersections excluded), while the southbound side of Huaining Street would be closed between Baoqing Road and Ketagalan Boulevard (both intersections excluded), police said.
During the second phase, flexible traffic controls would be implemented tomorrow from 2:50pm to 3:10pm and from 3:30pm to 3:50pm, they said.
Ketagalan Boulevard would be closed in both directions between Gongyuan Road (excluded) and Huaining Street (included), while Huaining Street would be closed in both directions between Baoqing Road and Guiyang Street (both intersections excluded), police said.
As the measures coincide with the lead-up to the Tomb Sweeping Day long weekend, heavier traffic is expected around the affected areas, police said.
Drivers are advised to take alternative routes via Zhongxiao W Road, Xiangyang Road or Aiguo W Road, and to divert earlier along Gongyuan Road or Zhongshan S Road, they said.

The WHO added the BA.3.2 strain to its list of Variants Under Monitoring in December last year, but this was the first imported case of the COVID-19 variant in Taiwan, CDC Deputy Director-General Lin Ming-cheng (林明誠) said. South Korea is planning to revise its controversial electronic arrival card, a step Taiwanese officials said prompted them to hold off on planned retaliatory measures, a South Korean media report said yesterday. A Yonhap News Agency report said that the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs is planning to remove the “previous departure place” and “next destination” fields from its e-arrival card system.
