Taiwan moved up one spot from last month to rank as the 31st most powerful passport globally, the latest Henley Passport Index ranking showed today.
Singapore topped the list once again, with its citizens enjoying visa-free access to 192 destinations.
Taiwan ranked 31st globally with visa-free access to 134 destinations.

This marks an improvement of one place compared with the rankings published last month, and represents a continued upward trend from 35th place in 2024 and 33rd last year.
In second place was a tie between Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates with visa-free access to 187 destinations, followed by Sweden in third with 186.
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Spain and Switzerland were tied for fourth place, boasting visa-free entry to 185 destinations.
Ranking fifth were Austria, Greece, Malta and Portugal, whose citizens can travel to 184 destinations without a visa.
Yangmingshan National Park authorities yesterday urged visitors to respect public spaces and obey the law after a couple was caught on a camera livestream having sex at the park’s Qingtiangang (擎天崗) earlier in the day. A former soldier and an active-duty army officer were yesterday indicted for allegedly selling classified military training materials to a Chinese intelligence operative for a total of NT$79,440. The Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office indicted Chen Tai-yin (陳泰尹) and Lee Chun-ta (李俊達) for contravening the National Security Act (國家安全法) and the Anti-Corruption Act (貪污治罪條例).
