Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) today left Taipei on a four-day visit to Palau, along with several Taiwanese business representatives, to explore further opportunities for collaboration with the Pacific ally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The delegation, led by Lin, includes representatives from the tourism, medical and green energy sectors, the ministry said in a statement.
During the delegation's visit from today to Sunday, the two countries would review their investment and business cooperation over the past year and discuss collaboration, the ministry said.

As Taiwan prepares to participate in next year’s Pacific Islands Forum hosted by Palau, the delegation would highlight Taiwan's strengths in innovative technology, smart medicine, digital resilience and sustainable development, it said.
Palau is one of Taiwan's 12 diplomatic allies, and the two have maintained formal diplomatic ties since 1999.

Nipah virus infection is to be officially listed as a category 5 notifiable infectious disease in Taiwan in March, while clinical treatment guidelines are being formulated, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said yesterday. US climber Alex Honnold left Taiwan this morning a day after completing a free-solo ascent of Taipei 101, a feat that drew cheers from onlookers and gained widespread international attention. Taiwanese and US defense groups are collaborating to introduce deployable, semi-autonomous manufacturing systems for drones and components in a boost to the nation’s supply chain resilience.
