Chunghwa Post today announced that the Specialized World Stamp Exhibition is to be hosted in Taiwan next year, after the postal company successfully received authorization from the Federation Internationale de Philatelie.
“PHILATAIPEI 2026” is to be held at the Taipei World Trade Center from Nov. 20 to 25 next year, celebrating the 130th anniversary of Chunghwa Post, the company said in a news release.
It is to be organized by the postal service and the Chinese Taipei Philatelic Federation, it said.

Themed around “innovation and sustainability,” the exhibition is to integrate culture and technology with tradition and innovation to showcase creative stamp designs from around the world, it said.
The event would draw international tourists to Taiwan and enhance the nation’s global standing in the philatelic community, it added.
Chunghwa Post previously hosted the World Stamp Championship Exhibition in 2016, attracting more than 310,000 visitors and participants from 60 countries and regions, it said.
Meanwhile, Chunghwa Post chairman Wang Kwo-tsai (王國材) is to lead a delegation to this year’s World Stamp Exhibition, “PHILAKOREA 2025,” being held in Seoul from tomorrow until Sunday.
The delegation is to host a “Taipei Night” for international philatelists to enjoy Taiwanese street food and culture, and to promote next year’s exhibition in Taipei, it said.
The event is to be guided by the concept of “culture as diplomacy, experience as marketing and stamps as storytelling,” it added.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy’s (PLAN) third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, would pose a steep challenge to Taiwan’s ability to defend itself against a full-scale invasion, a defense expert said yesterday. China has two carriers in operation — the Liaoning and the Shandong — with the Fujian undergoing sea trials. Although the PLAN needs time to train the Fujian’s air wing and
