Taiwanese artists showcasing a mix of Indigenous, rock and electronic music took center stage at the 2025 Czech Music Crossroads festival, which took place in the city of Ostrava from Thursday to Saturday.
Taiwan was a “Focus Country” at this year’s festival, which featured performances from Taiwu Ballads Troupe and Dungi Sapor (泰武古謠傳唱與 DJ 汝妮), WOOONTA (問他跨界樂團) and Musicians’ House (琴人樂坊).
For its performance, Taiwu Ballads Troupe teamed up with Amis DJ Dungi Sapor to combine “millennia-old songs of the Paiwan people” and progressive electronic music in a blend of “digital beats with ancestral voices,” according to the festival’s website.

“I liked their (Taiwu’s) show very much, especially how they fuse traditional and modern music elements,” said Martina Slonkova, one of the audience members.
The festival also praised “virtuoso” T.S. Lo (羅常秦) of WOOONTA’s pairing of Chinese erhu with Indian sitar, describing it as a mixture that “transcends traditions.”
Musicians’ House guitarist CS Chiou (邱旭) expressed the band’s desire to promote Taiwanese culture and music history.
In addition to live performances, the festival also hosted a talk on the Taiwanese music industry by artist manager Peiti Huang (黃珮迪).

The Executive Yuan yesterday approved a southwestern extension of the Sanying MRT Line from New Taipei to Bade District (八德) in Taoyuan, with a goal of starting construction by late 2026.
