EVA Airways yesterday announced that it would upgrade its free inflight Wi-Fi service starting in July, making Internet available to Infinity MileageLands members across all cabins.
The airline said it would launch a trial event from July 1 to Sept. 30, allowing all passengers on select aircraft models to use free inflight Wi-Fi.
Passengers flying on Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787 or Airbus A330-300 aircraft would be allowed “unlimited Web browsing” once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet (3,048m), EVA said.

Once the trial period is over, all business class passengers and Infinity MileageLands members would be able to use the service, the airline said.
Passengers traveling on Airbus A321-200 aircraft can access the newly built inflight wireless entertainment system on mobile phones, tablets and other personal electronic devices, EVA said.
The upgraded service has been launched this year and would be fully available early next year, it said.

Starlux yesterday announced that baseball player Kuo Hong-chih (郭泓志) would serve as the ambassador for the Ontario flight route and released a promotional video.
Starlux began cooperating with Kuo, who pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers, last year when it invited him to throw the ceremonial pitch for the Dodgers’ Starlux Day event.
Starlux said that Kuo was thrilled to learn about the flight to Ontario, sharing the advantages of Ontario International Airport, such as efficient customs clearance and convenient transportation.
Eight Chinese naval vessels and 24 military aircraft were detected crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait between 6am yesterday and 6am today, the Ministry of National Defense said this morning.
