A man reportedly attacked a woman with a knife on the street this morning in Taipei’s Neihu District (內湖), leaving the woman in critical condition.
The Taipei Fire Department received a report at 11:10am of two people injured on Ruiguang Road, where they found a woman surnamed Tsai (蔡) and a man surnamed Su (宿).
Tsai, 48, received multiple knife wounds, including to her chest, abdomen and arms, before collapsing, the department said.

Su, 52, appeared to have stabbed himself in the chest, it said.
Both people were rushed to nearby hospitals, although Tsai lost vital signs on the way to Tri-Service General Hospital and is in critical condition, it said, adding that Su remained conscious on the way to Cathay General Hospital.
Preliminary reports suggest that the attack stemmed from a relationship dispute, with Su attacking Tsai and then turning the knife on himself.
As of writing there has been no motive established, although Su seems to be Tsai’s ex-boyfriend. Police are still investigating.
Witnesses told TVBS that Su was calmly smoking a cigarette and walking around the crime scene when police arrived and arrested him.
The TV station also reported that the attack occurred in front of MediaTek’s main gate in Neihu Science Park, although neither is an employee of the company.
