The Shilin District Prosecutors’ Office on Wednesday indicted entertainer Aaron Yan (炎亞綸) for creating and disseminating an intimate video with an underage person.
Yan and his friend surnamed Chen (陳), who had the video in his possession, are being charged under the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act (兒童及少年性剝削防制條例), the indictment says.
There was insufficient evidence to charge Yan with sexual assault, the office said.

Yan has been accused of leaking a sex video of himself and musician Chiu Yao-le (邱耀樂), who uses the nickname Raku on YouTube, taken when Chiu was 16 years old.
During questioning, Yan said he asked Chiu if he was of age before taking the video, prosecutors said.
Yan has also denied disseminating the video, saying it was stolen when he took his phone in for repairs.
However, investigators reportedly found that Yan had sent the video to two people, resulting in the dissemination charge.

Considering that most countries issue more than five denominations of banknotes, the central bank has decided to redesign all five denominations, the bank said as it prepares for the first major overhaul of the banknotes in more than 24 years. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) yesterday reported the first case of a new COVID-19 subvariant — BA.3.2 — in a 10-year-old Singaporean girl who had a fever upon arrival in Taiwan and tested positive for the disease.
