Huawei is to close its branch in Taipei’s Syntrend Creative Park on June 18, leaving only one location as it retools its Taiwan strategy, the company's local operator said on Wednesday.
Xunwei Technologies Co, Huawei’s exclusive distributor in Taiwan, announced the Syntrend store closure as part of a “market strategy adjustment.”
With the Syntrend closure, the only Huawei store left in Taiwan is to be in Kaohsiung’s Dream Mall, down from 13 at its peak in 2019.

Huawei has already closed its three service centers in Taiwan and has not launched new phones in the market for three years, instead focusing on smart consumer electronics.
Customers could still buy Huawei products at local electronics stores or e-commerce platforms, Xunwei said.
For repairs, customers can call the customer service hotline to schedule a home visit by a representative, visit a Synnex (聯強) service center or take the product to authorized service stores Shifu (大師修) or Tsann Kuen Enterprise (燦坤), it added.
