McDonald's, the world's largest fast food restaurant chain, announced Thursday that it will hold a two-day employment campaign to recruit 900 full- time employees, including 600 service staff and 300 managerial personnel.
More than 2,000 recruitment events will be held at McDonald's restaurants across Taiwan on Sunday and Monday, targeting seniors and middle-aged individuals and those wanting to re-enter the job market, the company said.
Anyone interested should go to a nearby McDonald's where they can get information about pay and benefits and be interviewed for a full-time position.

The diverse and friendly environment at McDonald's very much appeals to middle-aged people and seniors looking for work, human resources vice president Lan Yu- hsiu (藍郁琇) said.
McDonald's currently employs 3,800 individuals aged 45 or over, accounting for 17 percent of its total workforce of 22,000 in Taiwan, with 10 percent over 60, she noted, adding that more than 30 percent of its middle-aged and senior employees have worked at the company for over 10 years.
In addition, McDonald's said, it is also looking to hire 300 individuals for managerial positions, offering a monthly salary of NT$40,000 (US$1,298) to NT$57,200. Such managers can earn as much as NT$1.5 million annually if year-end bonus and performance-based benefits are included, it added.
In an effort to cash in on a big increase in post-COVID business opportunities, the hospitality sector has been actively expanding its workforce recently.
In April, the Hotel Royal Group launched a recruitment campaign featuring newly designed friendly job openings with flexible time schedules in a bid to encourage more elderly or middle-aged job seekers to re-enter the employment market.

South Korea is planning to revise its controversial electronic arrival card, a step Taiwanese officials said prompted them to hold off on planned retaliatory measures, a South Korean media report said yesterday.
