Tainan’s Wenheng Temple (文衡殿) has added some Frozen attractions to its line-up of movie and cartoon characters that have helped draw tourists to the site.
The temple dedicated to the Eastern Han-era general Guan Gong (關公) in Longchi District (龍崎) gained national fame last year for installing giant statues of characters from Marvel Studios’ The Avengers and Transformers in its main hall.
Now Princess Elsa and Olaf from the Walt Disney film have joined the attractions, albeit off in the souvenir area.

The authorized, limited-edition models of Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee have proven a boon for the temple and the town, said Wang Chao-hsiung (王昭雄), a member of the temple board’s standing committee, drawing young people and heavy-motorcycle enthusiasts.
The Avengers and Transformers characters have a tough and martial image, so the board added the two Disney characters to bring a more balanced aesthetic to the displays, Wang said, adding that the Disney displays have been authorized by their copyright holders.
