As the 2025 Asian Winter Games come to an end at tonight’s closing ceremony, women’s ice hockey team goalkeeper Hsu Tzu-ting (徐子庭) is to serve as the flag bearer for the Taiwanese delegation, the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee said.
The event, hosted in Harbin, China from Feb. 7 until today, saw Taiwan take home its first medal since the 2nd edition of the games in 1990, when Chen Ying-chu (陳映竹) won bronze in the women’s 100m speed skate, it said.
Chen has since returned to Taiwan to resume training for upcoming international competitions, it added.

Alongside Hsu, tonight’s ceremony is to be attended by the women’s ice hockey team, the curling team, figure skater Li Yu-hsiang (李宇翔) and cross-country skiers Li Chieh-han (李杰翰) and Peng I-ming (彭以明), the committee said.
Hsu, currently pursuing a PhD at Canada’s Brock University, led team Taiwan when it faced off against the formidable Republic of Korea women’s ice hockey team on Saturday last week.
Hsu blocked 73 of 76 shots and demonstrated exceptional goalkeeping skills, despite Taiwan’s 2-3 defeat, it added.
The next Asian Winter Games are to be hosted in Trojena, Saudi Arabia in 2029, marking the first time in the event’s history that it would be hosted in a West Asian country.
