Taiwanese shuttlers Yang Po-han and Lu Ching-yao clinched the BWF World Tour Super 300 HYLO Open men’s doubles title after edging out compatriots Lee Jhe-huei and Yang Po-hsuan 11-21, 21-17, 25-23 in Saarbrucken, Germany, on Sunday.
Yang Po-han and Lu fell behind 11-7 in the opening game before the mid-game interval. The gap widened to 19-10 after Lee and Yang Po-hsuan scored five consecutive points before winning the game with a 10-point cushion.
Yang Po-han and Lu rallied to win the second game 21-17.

In the rubber game, Lee and Yang Po-hsuan had a one-point advantage at 23-22 before their opponents won the next three points and clinched the match.
It is the first title Yang Po-han and Lu have won since their triumph at the Prague Open in 2016. The pair are on a run of good form after finishing as runners-up at the French Open on Oct. 30.
In the men’s singles final, Taiwan’s Chou Tien-chen lost 21-18, 11-21, 22-24 to Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia.
A runner who stopped during a marathon in China to pose doing the splits and another who hoarded energy gels have been banned for two years, the local athletics association said yesterday.
