清清：七夕就要到了，是華人的情人節欸！
Qīngqing: Qīxì jiù yào dào le, shì Huárén de Qíngrén jié ē!

華華：跟2月14號的西洋情人節有什麼不一樣？都是花錢的日子。
Huáhua: Gēn èr yuè shísì hào de Xīyáng Qíngrén jié yǒu shénme bù yíyàng? Dōu shì huā qián de rìzi.
清清：是啦！不過七夕有牛郎和織女的故事，比較傳統。
Qīngqing: Shì la! Búguò Qīxì yǒu Niúláng hàn Zhīnǚ de gùshì, bǐjiào chuántǒng.
華華：西洋情人節都得送巧克力和花，七夕好像可以送別的。
Huáhua: Xīyáng Qíngrén jié dōu děi sòng qiǎokèlì hàn huā, Qīxì hǎoxiàng kěyǐ sòng bié de.
清清：我覺得七夕最浪漫了，有一種古老的愛情的味道。
Qīngqing: Wǒ juéde Qīxì zuì làngmàn le, yǒu yì zhǒng gǔlǎo de àiqíng de wèidào.
華華：可是這個故事好苦，牛郎跟織女一年才能見一面。
Huáhua: Kěshì zhè ge gùshì hǎo kǔ, Niúláng gēn Zhīnǚ yì nián cái néng jiàn yí miàn.
清清：現在有些戀人，也不常一起吃飯、約會，大家都有自己的工作要忙，很難天天膩在一起啊！
Qīngqing:Xiànzài yǒuxiē liànrén, yě bù cháng yìqǐ chīfàn, yuēhuì, dàjiā dōu yǒu zìjǐ de gōngzuò yào máng, hěn nán tiāntiān nì zài yìqǐ a!
華華：說的也是，能不變心，好好愛對方，就很不容易了。
Huáhua: Shuō de yě shì, néng bú biànxīn, hǎohǎo ài duìfāng, jiù hěn bù róngyì le.
翻譯 Translation
Qingqing: Qixi is coming soon. It’s the Chinese Valentine’s Day.
Huahua: How is it different from Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14? They’re both days to spend money.
Qingqing: True, but Qixi has the story of the Cowherd and the Weaving Maiden—it feels more traditional.
Huahua: On Valentine’s Day, people give chocolates and flowers, but on Qixi, you can give other things.
Qingqing: I think Qixi is more romantic. It has the feeling of traditional courtship from ancient times about it.
Huahua: But the story is so sad. The Cowherd and the Weaving Maiden can only meet once a year.
Qingqing: Some couples nowadays don’t often eat together or go on dates, either. Everyone’s busy with their own work. It’s hard to be together every single day.
Huahua: That’s true. Just staying loyal and loving each other presents a challenge.

Long before numerals and arithmetic systems developed, humans relied on tally marks to count. These simple, repeated marks — often just straight lines — are one of the earliest and most widespread methods of recording numbers. Archaeological findings suggest that humans began tallying in prehistoric times.
