Micro-Star International Co (MSI, 微星科技) expects second-half revenue to surpass the first half, driven by the launch of new graphics cards, PCs and notebooks, chairman Hsu Hsiang (徐祥) said at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting in Taipei yesterday.
The company also expects growth in the gaming segment as its key markets — Europe and the US — enter the peak season in the second half, Hsu said.
The company’s Claw series of handheld gaming devices has been in short supply due to better-than-expected market response, and the latest Claw 8 AI model, equipped with Advanced Micro Devices Inc’s processors, is expected to enter the market as early as the third quarter, the company said.

Regarding the company’s global operations, MSI plans to commence production at its manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe during the third quarter, Hsu added.
The California facility is under construction and would focus on the production of servers, PCs and gaming products, he said.
The company is considering building a surface mount technology facility in the US, depending on tariff policies, Hsu said.
The company is also constructing two new factories in China, as well as one in Taoyuan, and additional production sites in Vietnam and Thailand, he said.
Regarding its server business, shipments are mainly from Taiwan, but self-manufactured servers from its US plant could eventually account for 60 percent of total server production, Hsu said.
In response to the implementation of new US tariffs, MSI plans to stock up on products first and has drafted plans to establish various production bases later, he added.
Due to strong artificial intelligence demand and the peak-season effect of the gaming market, MSI’s revenue last month rose 33.15 percent year-on-year to NT$20.71 billion (US$691.37 million).
The company, which mainly supplies PCs and computer components, said it saw cumulative revenue in the first five months of this year rise 19.73 percent year-on-year to NT$95.3 billion.

Popular vape brands such as Geek Bar might get more expensive in the US — if you can find them at all. Shipments of vapes from China to the US ground to a near halt last month from a year ago, official data showed, hit by US President Donald Trump’s tariffs and a crackdown on unauthorized e-cigarettes in the world’s biggest market for smoking alternatives. That includes Geek Bar, a brand of flavored vapes that is not authorized to sell in the US, but which had been widely available due to porous import controls. One retailer, who asked not to be named, because
