Hsinchu man commits suicide with electric saw

A Hsinchu man committed suicide by decapitating himself with an electric saw, local radio reported yesterday.

Hsieh Ying-chin (謝英錦), 47, died on Thursday night at his home in Hsinchu County. His family members found him lying in a pool of blood in his bedroom with his head nearly severed and a hand-held electric saw still operating nearby, the Broadcasting Corporation of China reported.

Hsieh's family alerted police, who initially investigated his death as a murder, but after they found no signs of a struggle, officers ruled it a suicide.
