Two nurses who accidentally injected seven babies with anesthetic instead of hepatitis vaccine lost an appeal against their sentences yesterday.

The two nurses at Taipei County's Peicheng Hospital for Women and Children have no further avenue for appeal.
"Of the seven babies, one of them died and another six suffered from heart failure, lung failure and other breathing difficulties," said Tsai Kuo-tsai (
"The judges believed that the two nurses must be responsible for this so they decided to uphold the original verdict," Tsai said.
The shots were mistakenly given to the babies on Nov. 29 last year.
