Morrow goal helps Dallas to victory over NY Rangers

Brenden Morrow's power-play goal early in the third period lifted Dallas to a 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers on Sunday and stretched the Stars' winning streak to five games in the NHL.

Loui Eriksson scored his first of the season, on the power play, to tie it in the second after Jussi Jokinen got the Stars even at 1 in the opening period.

Jaromir Jagr snapped out of a slump with a goal, and Brendan Shanahan also scored for the Rangers, who dropped their second straight at home after a five-game winning streak there.

Blues 3, Flames 0

In St Louis, Manny Legace stopped 24 shots and Jamal Mayers scored two goals to lead St Louis to its sixth win in seven games.

Mayers scored 27 seconds after the opening faceoff and added a shorthanded goal into an empty net at 17:24 of the third. Brad Boyes had his team-leading 13th goal on a power play with 25 seconds left in the second period.

Ducks 3, Kings 2

At Anaheim, California, Ryan Getzlaf and Chris Kunitz scored third-period goals as Anaheim rallied for a victory over Los Angeles.

The Kings had an extended 5-on-3 power play in the final minute, but could not beat Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere (23 saves).

Kyle Calder and Dustin Brown scored first period goals to give the Kings an early advantage before the Ducks rallied to end a two-game losing streak.

Canucks 2, Blackhawks 0

At Vancouver, British Columbia, Brendan Morrison scored an early power-play goal and Roberto Luongo did the rest, making 27 saves to lead Vancouver over Chicago.

With former Canuck Brent Sopel off for clearing the puck over the glass, Chicago goalie Patrick Lalime committed to Sami Salo's point shot. But the Canucks defenseman sent a perfect slap pass to an open Morrison at the right side of the crease instead, leaving Morrison with a wide open net.

Daniel Sedin added an empty-net goal with 31.7 seconds left for Vancouver, which improved to 7-1-2 in the last 10 games.
