An officer at Changhua County Police Station says that two months ago, the day after Typhoon Soudelor blew in, a wounded pigeon flew onto the police station roof. When police officers found it, it was close to death, with many injuries all over its body, and its tail showed signs of having been cut. The police officers quickly bought pigeon feed to feed it. After two months of tender care by the police officers, the pigeon is making a good recovery, and it has even progressed enough to be able to fly again.
Oddly enough, after the pigeon recovered, it not only did not fly away, but made itself at home on the police station roof. It often stands on a high point of the roof, looking out over Changhua City, and frequently flies on patrol around the police station. Even more interestingly, the pigeon must have told its friends what a great place it is, because other pigeons and turtle doves have joined it in a lineup, all perched on the roof.
If any police officers go up to do anything on the roof, the pigeon seems to have a tacit agreement to fly over to be beside them. It is not afraid of people, and it coos to them as though seeking food or divulging some information, much to the police officers’ amazement.

The news that the County Police Station has a police pigeon living on its roof has spread and the bird is getting more and more famous. When kindergarten children come to visit the County Police Station and see its equipment, they even go specially to the roof to see the police pigeon. That is how famous it is.
The police officers joke that police units have a dove on their insignia, and Changhua Police Station now has a living police pigeon as its symbol. They say it should be enlisted in the force as the police station’s mascot.

Let’s explore another delicacy primarily known to Tainan locals: floating milkfish in thick soup. Despite its peculiar name, this dish is another Tainan specialty that showcases the popularity of milkfish, which is made into fish paste and served in thick soup. Unlike the version with tutuo fish, which also adds other ingredients to its thick soup, the floating milkfish version primarily features the “floating fish” itself in its thick soup, ensuring that the fish paste remains the star of the dish. peculiar (adj.) The belly of a milkfish is considered the most

The practice of freezing embryos as part of in vitro fertilization (IVF) was thrown into chaos in Alabama this year, when the state supreme court ruled that such embryos should be considered children, exposing clinics to wrongful death claims in the event they are destroyed in the thawing process. In 2021, more than 80 percent of US IVF procedures involved the transfer of frozen embryos, according to a recent report by the US Department of Health and Human Services. HOW IS EMBRYO FREEZING USED IN IVF? IVF uses high doses of hormones to stimulate ovaries to produce as many eggs as possible. Once
