As the Mid-Autumn Festival ended two weeks ago, many office workers were feeling discontented. According to a survey the online job board yes123 conducted, 57 percent of office workers said they did not get a Mid-Autumn bonus this year. The respondents said the gift they would least like to receive was gift boxes of traditional mooncakes. Pomelos came in second.
Yes123’s survey also showed that 32.8 percent of the office workers interviewed received neither a Mid-Autumn bonus nor a gift box this year. Those who only received a gift box accounted for 26.6 percent, while 57.4 percent did not receive a Mid-Autumn bonus. Most of the lucky 28.6 percent who received a bonus only got between NT$500 and NT$1,000.
A survey which was administered to companies showed that 65 percent of them gave Mid-Autumn bonuses, but that most were only around NT$1,000. About 85 percent of the companies said bonuses would be the same as last year, while only about 10 percent said they would be giving more than the previous year.

The survey showed that companies providing the highest bonuses were in the high-tech, manufacturing, financial and medical sectors, which on average gave employees bonuses equal to anywhere from a half month’s to two months’ salary. The culture, education, food and beverage service, as well as the travel and leisure industries did not provide bonuses.
If an employer was not going to provide a bonus, 60.3 percent of office workers said they would like to at least get cash coupons, which they feel to be more practical gifts. Around 10.5 percent said they would like to have ice cream mooncakes, while 5.4 percent said they wanted cosmetic products and 2.9 percent preferred healthy food gift boxes.

Let’s explore another delicacy primarily known to Tainan locals: floating milkfish in thick soup. Despite its peculiar name, this dish is another Tainan specialty that showcases the popularity of milkfish, which is made into fish paste and served in thick soup. Unlike the version with tutuo fish, which also adds other ingredients to its thick soup, the floating milkfish version primarily features the “floating fish” itself in its thick soup, ensuring that the fish paste remains the star of the dish. peculiar (adj.) 獨特的;古怪的 The belly of a milkfish is considered the most

In 2021, more than 80 percent of US IVF procedures involved the transfer of frozen embryos, according to a recent report by the US Department of Health and Human Services. HOW IS EMBRYO FREEZING USED IN IVF? IVF uses high doses of hormones to stimulate ovaries to produce as many eggs as possible. Once
A situation puzzle is a game in which one person describes a scenario and asks the players to explain it. The situation is deliberately lacking in details, but the players may acquire more information by asking questions — however, these can only be answered with “yes” or “no.” A player wins by describing the approximate events that led up to the situation. To do so, they must use a blend of logical and lateral thinking. A famous example of this is sometimes known as “Turtle Soup.” Here’s the riddle: “A man in a restaurant orders turtle soup, tastes it
