An Australian couple decided to take a beach holiday earlier this month. When they returned to their Melbourne home, they were surprised to see police at their house. The police thought the couple had been murdered!
Roy and Heather Ostell, aged 63 and 58, decided to go to the beach for the weekend. They didn't tell their daughter Angela, who went to their house. She saw that the house was a mess and the dog was in the yard.
Angela was worried and called the police. The police were about to talk to reporters when the couple came back. The police had already begun tearing up the patio to look for evidence.
Heather Ostell said she and her husband didn't know about all the fuss.
"We haven't had the radio on. I mean we've just been down at the beach having a wonderful time," she said.
The couple had arranged for a neighbor to feed their dog. And the reason Heather didn't call her daughter? "Would you believe we forgot the charger?"
The police said they were just happy to get the good news.(STAFF WRITER, WITH AFP)
