A spelunking adventure 洞穴歷險記
Kathleen woke up one morning bored with life.
"Mark, I need more excitement. I'm sick of just hanging around town," she said.
"What do you have in mind?" Mark replied.
"Let's go spelunking."
It took some work, but Kathleen finally got Mark to agree to going. They packed up their car and headed for the caves outside town.
When they reached the caves, Mark looked in.
"It's awfully dark in there," he said. "And look at how small the opening is. I don't think elephants are meant to go spelunking."
"Oh, come on. We have a flashlight to light up the cave. I even brought extra batteries. Don't chicken out now," Kathleen said.
They began walking into the cave. It was very damp inside. Whenever they said anything, sounds echoed off the walls.
"Did you hear that?" Mark said.
"It was nothing, keep on going," Kathleen replied.
They went deeper and deeper into the cave, which eventually became very narrow. Not even Kathleen would fit through.
"Mark, stick your trunk in there to see how far the cave goes."
Mark did as Kathleen said, even though he didn't think it was a good idea. His trunk hit something soft, and suddenly he felt a sharp pain …

凱薩琳一早醒來，對這樣的生活感到厭煩。
「馬克，我需要更多令人興奮的事，我受夠了只在鎮上閒晃，」她說。
「那妳想怎麼樣呢？」馬克反問。
「我們去洞穴探險吧！」
凱薩琳費了一番功夫才說服馬克同行，他們整理好車子便出發前往城外的洞穴。
當他們抵達洞穴時，馬克朝洞內望了望。
「裡面黑得要命，」他說：「而且你看這個洞口這麼小，我不覺得大象適合參加洞穴探險活動。」
「噢，別這樣啦，我們有手電筒可以照亮洞穴啊，我還準備了備用電池呢，不能現在臨陣退縮喔，」凱薩琳說。
他們開始走進洞穴中，裡面非常潮濕，他們說的一字一句經由牆壁反射傳來回音。
「你聽到了嗎？」馬克問。
「那沒什麼，繼續前進，」凱薩琳回答。
他們往洞內更深更深的地方走去，最後路變得非常狹窄，就連凱薩琳也無法通過。
「馬克，把你的鼻子伸進去看看洞穴有多深。」
雖然馬克覺得這不是一個好主意，但他還是照著凱薩琳說的做了，他的鼻子碰到一個軟軟的東西，忽然間，他感到一陣劇痛…（翻譯：袁星塵）

Idea 3: Mark's trunk hit a bush with thorns. Why is there a plant in the cave? Do Mark and Kathleen find a way to explore farther into the cave? Are there any other animals in the cave?
