A Pennsylvania man threw a stone that skipped on water 51 times. He broke the old world record of 40.
Russell Byars' amazing throw happened on July 19. He thinks that his stone traveled about 75m.
Stone skipping is an old pastime. People find stones that have a flat surface and throw them against water. They try to see how far the stones go before they sink or hit the shore.
Before declaring Byars a record holder, Guinness World Records experts looked at film of Byars' toss. They checked the circles made in the water by each skip.
"I actually threw 40 stones that day, but that was the first skip that I threw," Byars said. A newspaper in Pennsylvania confirmed the record with Guinness officials.
The old record of 40 skips was set in 2002 by Kurt Steiner, who is also from Pennsylvania.

美國賓州一名男子打水漂，打出的石子，在水面上彈跳了五十一次，打破了四十次的舊世界紀錄。
羅素．拜爾斯是在今年七月十九日擲出這驚人的紀錄。他認為他打出的那顆石子，在水面上行進了七十五公尺。
打水漂是老掉牙的消遣。人們找扁平的石子然後丟向水面，看石子在沉到水裡或是碰到岸邊前，可以在水面上行進多遠。
金氏世界紀錄專家在宣布拜爾斯為紀錄保持人前，看了拜爾斯的打水漂影片。他們檢查了每一個彈跳在水面上所產生的圓形水紋。
「我那天其實丟了四十多顆石子，但第一次丟擲的成績最好，」拜爾斯說。賓州一家報社向金氏世界紀錄人員證實了這項紀錄。
四十次的舊世界紀錄是由克爾特．史丹納在二○○二年創下的，他也是美國賓州人。
