Electronic folk group My 8 Day Weekend (週休八日) and female-led indie pop group Miss Stocking (絲襪小姐) each play a set tonight at Witch House (女巫店), an intimate coffeehouse-style venue in the National Taiwan University area. Tomorrow’s performer is alternative rock outfit Frande (法蘭黛樂團), and it is pop group Swimmy (小黑魚樂團) and Paiwan musician Balai (巴賴) on Thursday.

Folk/pop rock outfit Vast & Hazy is scheduled tomorrow at Kafka on the Shore (海邊的卡夫卡), a coffee house-cum-music and arts venue in the National Taiwan University area. Guitarist Yu Hao-i (余昊益) of post-punk rock act Macbeth (馬克白) takes the stage on Sunday.

Guitarist and Riverside founder Geddy Lin (林正如) holds a birthday party tonight at Riverside Cafe (河岸留言), joined by drummer Dafu, bass player Jiang Li-ping (江力平) and many of his fellow guitarists and friends. Puyuma musician Sangpuy (桑布伊) shares the stage with pop singer Wang Hui-chu (王彙筑) tomorrow, followed by Natural Outcome and Palapelit on Sunday. On Tuesday, the lineup is formed by alternative rock band 3.D.B (參噸半樂團) and gothic metal band Renascimento (文藝復興樂團), while it is emo rock band ChicKNUP (奇克拿樂團) and alternative metal group Lumei (露魅) on Wednesday. Thursday’s roster includes Puyuma musician Hao-en (昊恩) and Alice’s Voice (愛力獅).

Andrew Salim Quartet appear tonight at Sappho de Base, a late-night lounge bar that hosts mostly jazz shows. The Jelly Roll Affair plays a mix of blues and swing tomorrow. On Wednesday, Jiva Jazz Trio play compositions by Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, Wayne Shorter as well as songs from the Great American Songbook. Pianist Hsu Yu-ying (許郁瑛), bassist Martijn Vanbuel and drummer Lin Wei-chung (林偉中) reinterpret classical jazz tunes on Thursday.
