Actors Liam Neeson, Jude Law, Dustin Hoffman, Peter O'Toole, and Anthony Hopkins are also expected to bolster the festival's celebrity contingent.
A film festival catering for children and juveniles will kick off in northeastern Ilan County on Sunday, a county government official said this week.
A total of 14 films, including feature and animated films produced by Taiwan, the US, Japan, South Korea and Thailand, will be screened during the festival, the official said. The festival, now in its fourth year, will run until Wednesday.
The 2006 Taiwan Biennial International Documentary Exhibition, scheduled to take place from Oct. 27 through Nov. 5 at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung, will present more than 700 documentary films from over 50 countries, including 150 by Taiwanese directors.
