This weekend will provide further evidence that nowadays there's no such thing as a cheap rave party. People with an overpowering urge to dance or with extra NT dollars to burn can head to this weekend's Forest Dance, a rave that will take place near Taoyuan tomorrow night.
The event will be put on by Dreamfield, which threw some incredible parties earlier this year with outdoor raves by Japan's DJ Ziki. Putting on two parties a month in Taiwan (one indoor and one outdoor) and one a month in Japan, the group has developed a reputation for professional production quality and decent music, as long as you're deeply devoted to trance and hard trance. So this time, even though the DJs will all be from the home stable for Forest Dance, the vibe should be there. As will the premium dance party door price: NT$800 in advance or NT$1,000 at the door.
According to organizers, the event will take place at "the Kunlun Drug Touring Recreational Park" (崑崙藥用物園), in Taoyuan County's Lungtan township, Gaoping, community 1, No. 8-2 (桃園縣龍潭鄉高平村1鄰8之2號). As parking is inconvenient, Dreamfield will run a free shuttle bus from exit 2 of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall MRT station in Taipei every hour from 8pm to midnight. Busses will return at 7:30am and 8:30am the next morning. Also, ravers will be allowed to bring in their own food and beverages, which is a Dreamfield first.
