Online game developer UserJoy Technology Co (宇峻奧汀科技) reported revenue growth of more than 100 percent last year and set a record profit, the company said in a statement last week.
UserJoy Technology, the first online game company to announce its sales figures for last year, reported a record net profit of NT$307 million (US$9.68 million), up 113.86 percent from the previous year, the statement said.
Its earnings per share (EPS) was NT$10.42 — more than double the previous year’s NT$4.95. The online game company’s revenue was NT$906 million, up 99.46 percent from the previous year.
The company is one of the few domestic online game companies that have the ability to develop their own hit games, which attributed to its strong growth.
UserJoy Technology expects to launch its Kingdom Hero 2 Online game in China this year after receiving a US$5 million licensing deal last year, the company said.
The company also enjoys a bright outlook because hit games such as Angel Love 2 and Heroes: Scions of Phoenix are also expected to gain more licensing deals in China and Southeast Asia this year.
Meanwhile, Chinese Gamer International Corp (中華網龍), a leading online game developer and the first listed on the stock market in Taiwan, is also expected to report a record profit last year, with its EPS forecast to exceed NT$10 last year and reach NT$20 this year, analysts said.
Last year, China Gamer International reached a US$13 million licensing deal for its popular Chinese Hero Online in China. The company will receive a monthly share of local sales revenue after the game is launched in China in Q2, which is also expected to provide a lift to its revenues this year.

Lam’s speech is much anticipated, as Quanta has risen as one of the world’s major AI server suppliers. The company reported a 30 percent year-on-year growth in consolidated revenue to NT$1.41 trillion (US$43.35 billion) last year, thanks to fast-growing demand for servers, especially those with AI capabilities. Taiwanese suppliers to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC, 台積電) are expected to follow the contract chipmaker’s step to invest in the US, but their relocation may be seven to eight years away, Minister of Economic Affairs J.W. Kuo (郭智輝) said yesterday. When asked by opposition Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Legislator Niu Hsu-ting (牛煦庭) in the legislature about growing concerns that TSMC’s huge investments in the US will prompt its suppliers to follow suit, Kuo said based on the chipmaker’s current limited production volume, it is unlikely to lead its supply chain to go there for now. “Unless TSMC completes its planned six
