Intel Corp has named Tasha Chuang (莊蓓瑜) to lead Intel Taiwan in a bid to reinforce relations between the company and its Taiwanese partners.
The appointment of Chuang as general manager for Intel Taiwan takes effect on Thursday, the firm said in a statement yesterday.
Chuang is to lead her team in Taiwan to pursue product development and sales growth in an effort to reinforce the company’s ties with its partners and clients, Intel said.

Chuang was previously in charge of managing Intel’s ties with leading Taiwanese PC brand Asustek Computer Inc (華碩), which included helping Asustek strengthen its global businesses, the company said.
Since joining Intel Taiwan’s marketing and sales team in July 2003, she has worked with the company’s original design manufacturing and original equipment manufacturing partners to introduce new product designs for Japan and Asia Pacific markets, the company said.
Hans Chuang (莊秉翰), vice president of Intel’s sales, marketing and communications group for Asia Pacific and Japan, said Taiwan plays a critical role in the global semiconductor and information and communications technology sectors, and has become indispensable as a strategic partner in the artificial intelligence ecosystem.
Last week, sources said Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan (陳立武) is to visit Taiwan and meet with Taiwanese suppliers in the middle of next month in conjunction with the opening of Computex Taipei trade show, which is to begin on May 20.
The sources said Tan’s visit would be aimed at strengthening Intel’s ties with suppliers in Taiwan, as he attempts to help the struggling US chipmaker turn itself around.

Power supply and electronic components maker Delta Electronics Inc (台達電) yesterday said it plans to ship its new 1 megawatt charging systems for electric trucks and buses in the first half of next year at the earliest.
