A hospital and a chain of convenience stores have teamed up to allow customers to check their blood pressure.
Two 7-Eleven convenience stores and the Pingtung Christian Hospital (屏東基督教醫院) are hoping that people in Pingtung will take advantage of the opportunity to keep tabs on their health.
The hospital has recently cooperated with the stores to set up two electronic blood pressure monitoring machines to offer free blood pressure monitoring services to local residents, a hospital official said yesterday.
ALWAYS OPEN
Open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, the stores and the placement of the blood pressure machines there will allow Pingtung residents to check their blood pressure for themselves whenever they want, the hospital said.
The service is aimed at alerting the public to the potential risks of high blood pressure.
MONITORS
One of the two automatic, self-contained blood pressure monitors is in a 7-Eleven at the intersection of Pingtung City’s Dawu Road (大武路) and Yongda Road (永大路), while the other is located at the intersection of Ziyou Road (自由路) and Zhongshan Road (中山路), the hospital said.
Along with providing the two monitors, the hospital has trained sales staff at the two stores to teach the public how to use the machines and how to make use of the accompanying printed material to monitor their health, the hospital said.
