Cayenne Entertainment Technology Co (¬õ¤ß»¶´Ô®T¼Ö¬ì§Þ), a subsidiary of Uni-President Enterprises Corp (²Î¤@¥ø·~), yesterday launched its latest online baseball game, Major League Baseball 2.

¡§The baseball dream of playing Kuo Hong-chih (³¢ªl§Ó) against A-Rod, or Wang Chien-ming (¤ý«Ø¥Á) against David Ortiz, can finally be realized,¡¨ Chen Yau-tian (³¯º½«ï), CEO of Cayenne Tech, told a media briefing yesterday.

Cayenne Tech and Major League Baseball Advanced Media, Major League Baseball¡¦s interactive media and Internet company, have signed an interactive gaming license agreement for the rights to customize Cayenne¡¦s use of the Major League Baseball license within Taiwan for the online game.

The contract will enable Cayenne Tech to tailor Major League Baseball 2 to include official Major League club and league logos, as well as official club uniform colors and player rights.

Gamers will have access to Major League Baseball¡¦s 30 league teams and their players.

Cayenne Tech, a Taiwanese online gaming firm founded in 2006, provides gamers with a unified platform that has fostered an active gaming community.

Pop singer Jay Chou (©PªNÛ) is the gaming site¡¦s spokesman.

¡§The tremendous baseball fan base in Taiwan, as well as our 2.4 million gaming members, will now have the opportunity to play ultimate match-up and at the same time understand these teams and players individually,¡¨ Chen said.

Cayenne Tech runs its membership services through the WASABii Web site.

Membership is free, and the company makes money from customers who purchases add-on applications and services.

Chen said Cayenne Tech was keeping its full-year revenue forecast at NT$500 million (US$15.9 million).
