Chinese spouse and influencer Guan Guan’s (關關) residency permit has been revoked for repeatedly posting pro-China videos that threaten national security, the National Immigration Agency confirmed today.
Guan Guan has said many controversial statements in her videos posted to Douyin (抖音), including “the red flag will soon be painted all over Taiwan” and “Taiwan is an inseparable part of China,” and expressing hope for expedited reunification.
The agency last year received multiple reports alleging that Guan Guan had advocated for armed reunification.

After verifying the reports, the agency last month issued a notice requiring her to appear and explain her actions.
Guan Guan did come forward to explain, but the agency determined that her words and actions threatened national security and social stability, it said.
The agency revoked her residency permit in accordance with Article 14 of the Measures for the Permission of Family-based Residence, Long-term Residence and Settlement of People from the Mainland Area in the Taiwan Area (大陸地區人民在台灣地區依親居留長期居留或定居許可辦法), it said.
Guan Guan reportedly left Taiwan on Friday last week.
In related news, another Chinese spouse recently complained online about how hard it is to write traditional Chinese characters, saying she hopes for reunification soon so that her child can write simplified characters instead.
Taiwan is a multicultural society and it is understandable that people from cross-national marriages need support for transitional language learning, Minister of Education Cheng Ying-yao (鄭英耀) told reporters today.
The Ministry of Education is working with local governments to help students adapt more smoothly to their studies and get along with their classmates, Cheng added.
