The Ministry of National Defense (MND) today released images of the military tracking China’s People's Liberation Army (PLA) movements during the latest round of Chinese drills around Taiwan.
The PLA began "Justice Mission 2025" drills today, carrying out live-fire drills, simulated strikes on land and maritime targets, and exercises to blockade the nation's main ports.
The exercises are to continue tomorrow, with the PLA announcing sea and air space restrictions for five zones around Taiwan for 10 hours starting from 8:30am.

The ministry today released images showing a Chinese J-16 fighter jet tracked by a F-16V Block 20 jet and the navy’s Cheng Kung-class guided-missile frigate ROCS Tian Dan as it monitored a Chinese An Yang warship.
The jet was equipped with Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod AN/AAQ-33 technology, which enabled it to monitor the Chinese jet.
The technology is a passive detection system that does not emit signals, meaning the vessel being tracked may be unaware it is under surveillance, said Shu Hsiao-Huang (舒孝煌), an associate research fellow at the Institute for National Defense and Security Research.
As the Chinese Communist Party is exerting psychological warfare tactics on Taiwan, the ministry also released a promotional video urging Taiwan to remain resilient while showcasing its military prowess.
“Taiwan’s civil society forges strength through solidarity and resilience,” the video said. “With the whole nation united, undeterred by intimidation or coercion, we stand firm.”
The video was uploaded to the “Military Spokesperson” Facebook, Instagram and Threads pages and the Ministry of National Defense’s X account.
