A woman sentenced to life in prison for drugging her two children and then suffocating them to death with a pillow last year has had her appeal rejected, the Supreme Court said today.
The woman, surnamed Su (蘇), was under the influence of alcohol and ketamine when she committed the murders at a New Taipei City motel on May 14 last year, the court said.

During the trial, Su said that she had been in emotional distress and believed that, as the children's mother, she had the right to take their lives.
Her attorneys also claimed the killings were motivated by the family's financial difficulties and that she had intended to take her own life as well.
The Supreme Court's ruling is final and cannot be appealed.
Eight Chinese naval vessels and 24 military aircraft were detected crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait between 6am yesterday and 6am today, the Ministry of National Defense said this morning.
