A total of 194 foreign dignitaries are to take part in this year's Double Ten National Day celebrations, including three delegations from Taiwan's diplomatic allies Belize, Saint Lucia and Paraguay, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.
The guests include 120 members of visiting foreign delegations and 74 foreign representatives currently stationed in Taiwan, along with their spouses, the ministry said in a statement.

Among the visiting delegates, 55 are from the Asia-Pacific region, 26 from Latin America and the Caribbean, and 17 from Europe, it said.
The group also includes 16 foreign journalists and six representatives from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, of which Taiwan has been a non-regional member since 1992, it added.
The delegations from Taiwan's diplomatic allies would be led by Belize Governor-General Dame Froyla Tzalam, Saint Lucia Governor-General Sir Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles and Paraguay Chamber of Deputies President Raúl Luis Latorre Martínez, the ministry said.
Also attending the National Day celebrations and related events would be a Swedish parliamentary delegation, a group of participants in the European Valued Important Partnership Initiative and a delegation of Japanese local political leaders, it added.

The observatory at Taipei International Airport (Songshan airport) is to reopen tomorrow after nearly two years of renovation, the Civil Aviation Administration said yesterday. The civil aviation authority made the announcement ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival long weekend after Minister of Transportation and Communications Chen Shih-kai (陳世凱) visited the renovated facility yesterday morning. The Taipei City Government yesterday said it intends to seek NT$100,000 from the operator of the YouBike public bicycle rental system after a failure yesterday evening disrupted services for more than 20,000 users.
