Taipei was the third-most expensive city to buy or rent an apartment in Asia, according to a ranking by Global Property Guide updated this month.
In its ranking of major cities across Asia, Taipei came in third with a median monthly asking price to rent a one-bedroom apartment coming in at US$973.
The median price to rent a two-bedroom was US$$1,557, while a three-bedroom cost US$1,816 per month, the ranking showed.

To purchase a one-bedroom apartment, the median cost was US$641,000.
Singapore was the most expensive city in Asia at US$2,740 to rent and US$900,000 to buy a one-bedroom apartment.
That was followed by Hong Kong, with monthly rental prices of US$2,421 and a sales price of US$968,200.
Bangkok came in after Taipei in fourth at US$722 to rent and US$120,000 to buy.
The cheapest on the list was Bangladesh at US$173 to rent and US$28,000 to buy.
