The health departments of Taipei and New Taipei City yesterday announced a new case of measles and shared places the person visited during the incubation period.
People who visited the venues around the same time should monitor their health for suspected measles symptoms, they said.
A 27-year-old man living in Sanchong District (三重) was confirmed to have measles and he had had contact with a previously confirmed case in central Taiwan, the New Taipei City Public Health Department said.

The man on Tuesday developed a sore throat and rashes and sought medical treatment the next day, the department said.
He was first reported as a suspected case and later confirmed to have measles, it said.
Four people in his household have not developed any symptoms, while the department is identifying people who he had close contact with, it said.
People who had close contact with the man should monitor their health until May 14, it said.
Measles is a highly contagious disease and is transmissible in the four days before and after rashes appear, so people who visited the venues around the same time as the man should practice self-health management — wear a mask, avoid going to public venues and pay attention to symptoms — for 18 days, it said.
The man visited Sanchong Civil Sports Center from 9am to 11am on Friday last week and Wugu Public Assembly Hall from 7pm to 9pm on Monday, it said.
The Taipei Department of Health said the man also visited venues in Taipei during his incubation period.
He went to restaurant chain Tasty Steak’s (西堤牛排) Roosevelt Road branch from 12pm to 1pm on Friday last week and Flowers Taiwan R9 Cafe at MRT Zhongshan Station from 7pm to 9pm on Saturday last week, it said.
People who were suspected to have been near the man during the incubation period should report to their local health center if they develop suspected symptoms, including rashes, fever, coughing, runny nose, sensitivity to light, red eyes, hay fever and pink eye, and see a doctor, it said.
Former president Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) on Monday called for greater cooperation between Taiwan, Lithuania and the EU to counter threats to information security, including attacks on undersea cables and other critical infrastructure. In a speech at Vilnius University in the Lithuanian capital, Tsai highlighted recent incidents in which vital undersea cables — essential for cross-border data transmission — were severed in the Taiwan Strait and the Baltic Sea over the past year. Taiwanese authorities suspect Chinese sabotage in the incidents near Taiwan’s waters, while EU leaders have said Russia is the likely culprit behind similar breaches in the Baltic. “Taiwan and our European
