EVA Air has been ranked as one of the 10 safest full-service airlines in the world, according to the latest rankings issued by AirlineRatings.com.
In its annual World's Safest Airlines report for this year released yesterday, the Australia-based aviation rating company listed the top 25 safest airlines among the 385 it monitors.

EVA Air was the only Taiwanese carrier to make the list, trailing eight other carriers.
EVA Air president Clay Sun (孫嘉明) described the honor as a testament to the company's commitment to flight safety.
"EVA Air has been renowned in the industry for its excellent flight safety record," Sun was quoted as saying in the company's statement. "This award provides great encouragement and is an honor for every employee."
The airline, which said it has had no major accidents since its founding in 1989, also noted that it has been included in the annual rankings every year since AirlineRatings began publishing them in 2013.
The rankings are based on AirlineRatings' seven-star safety rating system, which evaluates factors such as serious incidents over the past two years, compliance with the International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit, and pilot skill and training, AirlineRatings.com said.
Topping the list were Air New Zealand and Qantas, followed by Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways and Emirates in a tie for third, Virgin Australia in fourth, Etihad Airways in fifth and All Nippon Airways in sixth.
EVA Air was ranked seventh, followed by Korean Air in eighth, Alaska Airlines in ninth and Turkish Airlines in 10th, it said.
Other Asian airlines in the top 25 were Japan Airlines in 19th and Vietnam Airlines in 22nd.
In AirlineRatings' list of the 25 safest low-cost airlines, Hong Kong Express, Jetstar Group and Ryanair took the top three spots.

Considering that most countries issue more than five denominations of banknotes, the central bank has decided to redesign all five denominations, the bank said as it prepares for the first major overhaul of the banknotes in more than 24 years. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) yesterday reported the first case of a new COVID-19 subvariant — BA.3.2 — in a 10-year-old Singaporean girl who had a fever upon arrival in Taiwan and tested positive for the disease.
