Former Taiwan People’s Party (TPP) legislator and vice presidential candidate Cynthia Wu (吳欣盈) was questioned as a witness by prosecutors on an ongoing corruption probe into the party’s finances.
The Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office told the Criminal Investigation Bureau to summon Wu at noon yesterday before letting her go after an hour of questioning.
The questioning went smoothly, but it is impossible to comment on it due to confidentiality, Wu told reporters, thanking the public for their support.

Wu cooperated with the investigation and fulfilled her civic duty, the TPP said in a statement after her release, adding that it respects her cooperation.
Wu was questioned as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that TPP Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) and his campaign’s chief financial officer, Lee Wen-tsung (李文宗), illegally transferred political donations through a related company, Muko Public Relations (木可行銷公關).
Wu was a Shin Kong Life Insurance deputy general manager and a board member of Shin Kong Financial Holding Co. She entered politics as a legislator-at-large for the TPP and became the party’s vice presidential candidate.
She returned to Shin Kong after her loss in January’s presidential election.
The Executive Yuan yesterday approved a southwestern extension of the Sanying MRT Line from New Taipei to Bade District (八德) in Taoyuan, with a goal of starting construction by late 2026.
